Scarborough Southwest Bike Rodeo

On Saturday June 1, TO35Cycles will be hosting the Scarborough Southwest Bike Rodeo.

The event is free, family friendly and features a wide variety of activities including; a children's bike course with safety-skill stations; free bike tune-ups; and a marketplace with local businesses and community cycling organizations.

This year's event promises to draw more visitors and participants than last year, and Ward 36 Cyclists is proud to help and work alongside TO35Cycles to ensure its overall success.

So save the date, get on your bikes, ring those bells, and come out and celebrate safe cycling in Scarborough!

Cheers,

Street Smarts-Safe Cycling Workshop at Taylor Memorial Library

Cycle Toronto will be hosting an interactive Street Smarts-Safe Cycling Workshop at Taylor Memorial Library at 2:00pm on Saturday June 1, 2013.

The workshop will cover the benefits of bicycle commuting, basic bike maintenance, route selection, and perhaps most importantly provide useful tips and techniques for riding on the road.

The workshop is free, and all participants will receive a Toronto Cyclists Handbook and a Toronto Bike Map.

These Cycle Toronto workshops are well attended and incredibly popular (when held in other Wards) and there are a limited number of spots, so make sure you RSVP ahead of time with the library staff at Taylor.

See you there!

Bells on Danforth, Sat. May 11

Ward36Cyclists and TO35Cycles will be joining other east end cyclists and taking part in the Bells on Danforth ride this Saturday May 11, 2013.

We will be meeting at Danforth Rd. and Danforth Ave. at 11:00am. (Swiss Chalet parking lot)

The Crossroads of the Danforth BIA has graciously donated some light refreshments and T-shirts for cyclists at our starting point.

We will then depart at 11:15am and ride across Danforth Ave., and meet up with other cyclists at East Lynn Park, and then ride en masse to Queen's Park.

The best part? The ride is free and really family friendly!

See you Saturday!
